Term one reports & parent-teacher meetings

Term one reports have now gone home. Parent-teacher meetings are scheduled for Thursday, December 5 from 1pm-7pm. Appointments can be scheduled online at parentinterviews.com/lbjh.

School Closed - Friday, October 11 and Monday, October 14

School will be closed for students on Friday, October 11 for a teacher professional learning day. Monday, October 14 is a Thanksgiving holiday for students. School will reopen Tuesday, October 15, and will be day 1 on the schedule.

Food Drive 2019

Our school will be participating in the Metrobus VOCM Thanksgiving Food Drive again this year. The food drive will run from Monday, October 7 to Thursday, October 10. As always, we only accept donations of non-perishable food items.
The most needed items identified by Community Food Sharing Association include tins of meat, tuna and beans as well as pasta and pasta sauce. Other items collected in the past include but are not limited to granola bars, kraft dinner, soups and puddings.
This is a great opportunity to build school spirit as well as continue Leary's Brook tradition of helping others who are less fortunate in our community.
The homeroom who collects the most items will win a pizza party!!

School Opening 2019

The 2019-2020 school year begins for students on Wednesday, September 4. The school doors open at 8am.

Final Exam Schedule

Exams begin on Wednesday, June 19 and end Friday, June 21. A schedule of exams for June 19-21 is now available here.

Monday, March 18

School is closed for staff and students on Monday, March 18 for the St. Patrick's Day holiday. School will reopen on Tuesday, March 19, which will be day 6 of the schedule.

School Clothing Orders

On Friday, we distributed order forms for students who would like to order school clothing items, such as hoodies, t-shirts, etc. The order forms are due back March 15th. Please submit payment with order forms. (Cash or cheques made out to Leary’s Brook Junior high.)

Mini Enrichment Courses

Once again, the district is pleased to offer Enrichment Mini courses for the Spring 2019.
There is a huge selection of exciting and challenging courses for students grades 7-9.
The Mini course catalogue can be found here and indicates the instructor, site and the location of the mini course. If you would like your child to participate, students must complete the application form, consent form and return with $45.00 by March 12, 2019.
Please note that the students must list the 4 different courses they are interested in attending, not multiple slots of the same course. Students will only be selected for one course.

Bus Route Update - January 18, 2019

Effective the morning of January 18, 2019, there is one change to the Leary's Brook Bus Routes:
Route 17-155-4 - stop removed from Gambier St & Blackall Pl. Bus will now travel to University Ave via Paton St

Christmas Concert Postponed

Due to the forecasted weather for Wednesday evening, the Christmas Concert scheduled for tomorrow evening is rescheduled to Monday, December 17 at 6:30pm.

Bus Routes Update

Bus routes have been updated, with the following change:

Route 17-155-2 - stops added at 201 Old Pennywell Road and 119 Old Pennywell Road.

These changes take effect on the morning of September 19, 2018.
